The Coronavirus is now a pandemic according to the World Health Organization. At Financial Operations Networks, the developer of InvoiceInfo and VendorInfo applications, we are well- positioned and are taking steps to prevent any impact whatsoever on the services we provide to our customers.
FON is a computer-based company. We pioneered providing virtual products, having built The Accounts Payable Network completely online nearly 20 years ago. As FON developed InvoiceInfo and then VendorInfo, our talented expert team has grown its online acumen and working-arrangement flexibility. We can operate remotely at any time from anywhere. Some staff regularly operate remotely, and all staff can do so. Management, IT and content staff can continue to provide uninterrupted service to our clients.
Even when remote, we are in regular communication with one another. Our team operates on company-provided, portable equipment, and our apps are hosted at off-site data centers. Those of us regularly in the office can easily shift to 100 percent remote operation should it become necessary.
Restricting travel is another important way to limit exposure, including cancellation of conference participation. We evaluate our travel plans closely and have stopped unnecessary travel.
In-person visits and visits to our offices have been replaced by virtual meetings. We recently postponed two planned live events for the safety of all involved. We will continue to monitor the situation to limit the risk of exposure. While events and travel can be valuable, they are not essential to our core operations.
Mindful health practices are in place, starting with the basic and critical practices like washing hands and following additional CDC guidelines in its Interim Guidance for Businesses and Employers, which we have shared with the staff. This includes cleaning of computers, devices and workspaces.
To date, no one on the FON team (or their families) are known to have come in contact with the virus. Nor are there many cases yet known in the areas where our staff live. We will continue to be alert to the situation in our geographic areas and to monitor the team’s health. Should staff or their families suspect infection, they are prepared to self-quarantine while continuing to work.
FON’s actions reflect our care for the wellbeing of our staff and customers alike. You can rely on us to be there to serve you without interruption through the period ahead, however long it may be.
